MORAVIAN SPICE COOKIES

In a large bowl or kitchen aid mix together:
            1 1/2 cups dark molasses
            1 cup packed brown sugar
            1/2 cup melted shortening—cooled
            1/2 cup melted butter—cooled

In a small bowl sift together:
            1 cup flour                              
            1 Tbsp. ground ginger
            1 Tbsp. cinnamon      
            2 tsp. baking soda
            2 tsp. ground cloves              
            2 tsp. ground all-spice
            2 tsp. salt

Add spice mixture to section one. Add 4 cups flour.  Mix together.

Divide dough in half. Roll dough into rectangle between saran wrap.  Chill for several hours.

Cut rectangle into 4. Take one section. Dust counter and rolling pin with flour.  Roll dough to about 1/8 of an inch thick. Brush off excess flour.  Cut dough with desired cookie cutter.

Grease cookie sheet. Bake in 325º oven for 8-10 minutes. Take cookies out and let cool. Remove from pan.
